Same work, different day – what changed was the heart.

I've had both kinds of workdays with the exact same to-do list. On one, everything is a grind I push uphill. On the other, hours pass, the work is hard, and somehow it carries me – and I can't fully say what I did differently.

This letter names the difference: pause before you begin, let your heart arrive first, then act – the rest isn't yours to force anyway. That last part points straight at A Radical Thought, where I look at what it might mean that something meets us halfway.

Next time you're about to start something, try it in the letter's order: stop, breathe, then begin.

Dear traveler,

Wow! What a day yesterday was. You simply surrendered yourself to the task – and you had fun doing it.

It was hard work that felt light. That's exactly how it should be when you act from the present moment.

Carry that feeling with you into every day.

Today, I want to give you the following to take with you on your path:
Let your heart flow into what you do.

Before you begin a task, open your heart. Return to your inner stillness.
That doesn't always have to happen through meditation or a ritual. It's simply about becoming aware of yourself.

Pause for a moment.
Feel your breath.
And then act.

We will direct your attention to what truly matters at the right moment – and you simply follow that impulse. We will do this again and again. And as long as you listen to us and trust, you will have everything you need.

You don't need to do more.
You can't do more.

Because, as you know: Control is an illusion.

Thank you for being here.

If something in these letters stayed with you, take it along – think about it, write your own answer, or just let it sit.

And if not today, that's okay too. There's no rush.

Until next time,
– Jan
