Write It Down.

The diary, the unsent letter, the wish spelled out in detail – three uses of paper, one mechanism, what gets written gets seen.

Write It Down

Her favorite practice needs no course, no timing, no teacher: paper. The bee-swarm of thoughts – she's used the image before, and it's exact – buzzes until it lands on a page; the circus-donkey thought that chases itself in a circle stops when it's written down. In the moment of writing, she says, the thoughts become clear, and the answer arrives faster than expected.

Three uses, one mechanism: the diary that unknots the day; the unsent letter to a person you can't talk to – a quarrel, a grief; write it, don't send it – and the wish letter, wanting spelled out in the smallest details so even you can see what's missing. The Blind Spot works the same seam from the other side: what circles unseen inside keeps its grip exactly until something makes it visible. Paper is the cheapest instrument there is for that.

She wrote her own wants down against real shame not long ago and watched them turn realistic. This post is that experience distilled into a practice anyone can pick up tonight.

My favorite #practice is writing. It's always with me. Remember how we kept diaries as teenagers? Only now, so many years later, have I understood how strong this practice is.

So what to write?

1. A diary, of course. Usually the thoughts in our head are like a swarm of bees. Buzzing, buzzing, and you can't always make them out. Or like the donkey at the circus – one thought chasing itself in a circle. And here the writing practice comes in. In the moment of writing, our thoughts become clearer; we understand better what the problem is. And the answer is found faster than we expected.

2. A letter to a person. It happens – you've quarreled with someone, God forbid someone has died, there's trouble with a person – you can always write them a letter. No need to send it; just write. By the way, Guf has a song – "Letter Home" – and that's exactly what he's talking about. The man gets it, after all )))

3. A wish letter. We often want something, the voice in our head sounds pretty good, but the wish doesn't come true. Sometimes it's better to write down what you want, in the smallest details. That way the universe will understand exactly what you want. And afterwards it's worth looking at what you've written – and maybe you'll understand what's missing for it to come true.

If her words reached somewhere mine don't – good. That's what this blog is for. Take what fits and leave the rest.
