A letter about making the thing that calls you – and leaving what becomes of it to the great whole.
I had been making amulets – the ones the "Amulet of Love" practice on this site grew out of – and in the middle of an uncertain stretch I kept asking what they were for. Whether they would matter. Whether they would help anyone. Whether they would lead anywhere.
The letter takes that question out of my hands: what greater purpose a creation serves, for you or for the people you make it for, is secondary – it is not in your control. Your part is only to make it the way that feels good, light, and right, and to let it go when it is complete. Wherever the letter says amulets, put whatever it is you are making.
If you keep asking your work what it is for, let this one answer instead.
Dear traveler,
In the middle of all the uncertainty and fear, you create these amulets. Because you feel this inner urge. Because it feels right. You cannot do otherwise. And you do it with surrender. With love. With sincerity. As well as you can. You see – that is everything we have let you know these past weeks. You need to do nothing more. When you follow this inner urge, you walk the right way, and what you create is valuable because it is authentic. Because it comes from truth. These amulets come from your inner truth. By following their call and manifesting their voice, you realize yourself. And with that you are: You. Your true self. What greater purpose the manifestation of the amulets serves, for you and for the people you create them for, is secondary. That is not in your control. Trust here in the great whole. In Love. All you have to do is create the amulets the way it feels good, light, and right to you. With love and surrender. And the rest will happen as it must. Be without expectations as you do – and remember to let your work go when it is complete.
