Simply Bella.

The urge to buy, traced honestly, turns out to want something else – novelty, connection, time with no roles at all.

Simply Bella

It starts with a caught thought, the kind most of us recognize and rarely examine: money arrives and immediately wants to be spent. Her counter-image is in the room with her – a child whose complete list of needs is food, sleep, a clean diaper, and love. Everything else is just the world, there to be tasted and watched, not owned.

The turn of the post is that she doesn't moralize the wanting; she traces it. The urge to buy isn't lying about wanting – only about the object: underneath it she finds a real lack of novelty, of connection, of space with no roles in it. Years of being mom, wife, the useful one – and the discovery that she needs time to be simply Bella. Coming Alive calls that movement coming home and letting life bloom from within; her month-long no-buying experiment is just a way of standing still long enough to hear it.

Her last line is the whole post, and it belongs on a shop window: what we look for in stores, the soul is looking for. It can't be bought.

Purchases, emptiness and the return to yourself

Today I caught myself on a thought: why, when money comes in, do you immediately want to spend it?
Who even convinced us that we constantly need something?

I look at my child. What does she really need? To eat, to sleep, a clean diaper and love. That's all. The rest is simply the world around her. She studies it, tastes it, touches it, watches it.

An adult, meanwhile, is constantly offered more to want. A new collection. A new thing. A new trend.
But what do purchases actually give?

Most often, a few minutes of pleasure. A short surge of emotion. And that's it.

I got to thinking: what if, instead of another thing, I gave myself experiences? A trip. A massage. Time with the people I love. A beautiful dinner.

I decided to run an experiment: a whole month without buying clothes or little junk. Simply watching myself.

And I understood one more important thing. The desire to buy often comes not from a need for things.
Sometimes it comes from a lack of connection, novelty, impressions, space of your own.

These last years I was almost always a mom, a wife, a person taking care of others. And suddenly I realized: I too need time where I am simply me.
No roles. No duties. No need to be useful. Simply Bella.

Sometimes what we look for in stores is really what our soul is looking for.
And that can't be bought.🤍✨
