Not a Lion.

The wildebeest never asks why it isn't a lion – it simply lives, and that is enough.

Not a Lion

Nature documentaries again – and again they carry more than they promise. A lion is built for the hunt: night vision, fangs, the whole body an instrument. The wildebeest is not. And the wildebeest, Bella notices, never once asks why it isn't a lion.

We do, constantly – comparing, refitting ourselves to expectations, filing ourselves under “not enough.” Her answer is the sentence this site repeats until it's believed: being yourself is already enough. Coming Alive puts the same medicine in almost the same words – you come more alive through acceptance, limitations, and surrender, not by hunting a life that was never yours.

Read it, exhale, and let the lion keep his job.

🌸 And what if you're not a lion?

In the universe everyone has their role.
Everything is in its place. Everything moves in cycles.

Take the lion. He's a hunter.
He has night vision and sharp fangs, a body built for hunting.
He was born to be a lion.
And then there's the wildebeest. They are prey.
She may live a whole life and die of old age. Or she may be eaten. She doesn't ask herself:
“Why am I not a lion?” She simply lives her life with pleasure, while she can.

And we keep trying to be lions. Or tigers. Or someone else we are not.
We compare all the time,
try to change ourselves, to fit someone's expectations.
We decide we're “not enough.”

We forget that being yourself is already enough.

It seems to me we're so afraid of failing others' (and our own) expectations that we forget to live.
Without a grade. Without a role.

And yet when we allow ourselves to be the wildebeest and not the lion –
we exhale.
We set our “I” free.
And we merge with the universe. Gaining incredible strength.

If her words reached somewhere mine don't – good. That's what this blog is for. Take what fits and leave the rest.
