Nothing Lost.

Two months without the feed – and honestly, nothing lost. Rather the opposite: the moment returns when no one is filming it.

About ten minutes before writing this, Bella was scrolling through shorts. A stranger’s gender reveal party, a stranger's diet, a stranger's birth story – and Bella caught herself mid-scroll with a question most of us never stop to ask: why do I need to know this?

Her answer cuts two ways. The endless urge to share, she suspects, comes from the ego – look what I ate, where I went, what I bought. And the endless watching costs the watcher: the moment spent filming is a moment lost, a hundred photos deep. Coming Alive says the same thing from the other side – we become scattered and thin when we tend every life but our own, and the way back is humble: close the door, feel your own heartbeat. What is shared from fullness gives; what is shared to prove drains.

Two months earlier she got off the needle – readers of this blog watched her decide. This is the report from the other side: honestly, nothing lost. Rather the opposite.

🌸 Why do I need to know this?

About ten minutes ago I was scrolling through shorts on YouTube.
Someone's talking about a gender reveal party, a man shares the story of how he lost weight, a girl talks about giving birth.
And I suddenly caught myself thinking:
why do I need to know this?
I have absolutely no interest in how a random person from a screen lives their life.

Childhood came to mind: the most we ever saw was MTV, showing how very famous people lived. But even then, that information gave us little.

And I started wondering – where does this endless urge to share come from?
Most likely – from the ego.
To show: look, I ate something tasty, went to the sea, bought something new.
But in fact – most people don't give a shit how anyone lives, forgive my bluntness. Everyone has their own business, their own cares and worries.

We talk to each other less. No point calling to ask “how are you?” when you can see it all on Instagram.
We meet less often.
We spend less time living in the moment – because first you have to take 100 photos and 200 videos. And by the time the shoot is over, the moment itself is already lost.

We're losing touch with nature, with the real.
More and more caught up in technology and rushing around.

And once again I'm convinced: technology gives us a lot of good, and takes away no less.

I've been living without Instagram for two months now. And honestly, I've lost nothing. If anything, I've gained.

Thank you for reading.

If her words reached somewhere mine don't – good. That's what this blog is for. Take what fits and leave the rest.
