Being Parents.
What could be more spiritual than being parents? Eight days in, the practices have new names – dialogue, patience, and accepting every offer of help.
Eight days after her daughter arrived, Bella sits down and takes stock – and opens with a disarming question: the channel was made for the spiritual side of life, but what could be more spiritual than being parents? This site has always claimed the same thing in other words: the way happens between breakfast and deadlines, not in a temple. Here it happens between night feeds.
Her list is practice, not theory. Don't take the stress out on each other – talk. Take turns at feeling useless: at night he can only sit and watch her feed, by day she sleeps while he cooks, and the see-saw finds its level. The Universal Principle of Balance describes exactly that movement – equilibrium is not a fixed state you hold but one that restores itself, wave after wave, when nobody grips. And the best advice she was given: accept every offer of help. She does – family, specialists, friends, each in their own way.
The list ends mid-thought, because her brain forgot what it wanted to say – and she checks that off too. Honest to the last line.
🌸 Being parents.
I know this channel was created with a lean toward the spiritual side, the practices, the change of life's rhythm – but what could be more spiritual than being parents?
8 days have passed, and my husband and I have managed to draw some conclusions:
1. It's stress. Yes. Every 5 minutes there's something new, you don't know how to handle it, and you start to worry. The most important thing here is not to snap at each other, but the opposite – to help and support each other through dialogue)
2. There are moments when you feel useless. At night, for example, my husband can't do much, and sometimes he sits there half-asleep and watches me feed her. In those moments, yes, he's useless – and I send him off to bed. But during the day, well-rested, he cooks for me, gives me time to sleep, to take a shower and so on – and then I'm the more useless one. If that word can even be used in a situation like this.
3. The hardest part is when you don't understand the cause of a problem. We have trouble with feeding, for example, and from that comes trouble with sleep. It's exhausting. Changing diapers, feeding and so on isn't hard. What's hard is feeding every half hour.
4. “Agree to any help,” they told me. And yes, it's the best advice. I bring in family, specialists, friends. Everyone helps in their own way.
5. Hormones. Oh gods, I've never had waves like these in my life. Crying every night? – ✅
Everything brings tears – tenderness, sadness, tiredness, fears and so on.
I would probably continue this list, but halfway through the post my brain forgot what it wanted to say.
That's another point, by the way: forgetting everything a second later – ✅
Thank you for reading.
If her words reached somewhere mine don't – good. That's what this blog is for. Take what fits and leave the rest.
