Rhythm.
When flow turns into finishing, it's time to pause.
I know the exact moment a piece of work turns on me. It starts as something that wants out – and three hours later I'm not creating anymore, I'm finishing. Same chair, same file, completely different animal.
This letter is about catching that shift: when the mind takes over and starts forcing, the invitation isn't to push through but to stop and listen. In The Creative Process we map these phases in detail – the impulse, the doubt, the pull to complete.
If you're mid-push on something right now, read this before you go back to it.
Dear traveler,
You already know the fluid boundary between creating from the heart and creating from the mind. This difference is essential – because these two qualities are so subtly distinct and can quickly merge into one another. In one moment, you feel a deep longing, an inner urge, a drive that something wants to come through you into the world. Then you know: it comes from your pure heart.
But just a few moments later, this drive can dissolve. A pause is needed. Now your mind speaks up – it WANTS to continue, WANTS to complete, WANTS to get the “task” done. But this changes the quality: it is no longer about allowing something to emerge through you, but about forcing it. At all costs.
Notice this difference. For here lies the invitation to pause. To reflect. To recharge. To become still and listen.
Creation is a process – a living, deeply personal journey. It requires humility and surrendering to your own rhythm. The insights that want to manifest take time. Because every act of creation is also an act of healing. Something invisible becomes visible; imagination becomes reality. In doing so, we don't just change the world – we transform ourselves. We grow. We learn. Our soul unfolds, and our creation becomes a mirror of that.
This development cannot be rushed. It needs space. Time. Silence. Physical awareness. Integration.
The creative process follows its own unique rhythm – independent of deadlines, plans, or what the mind WANTS. To follow it means surrender. Letting go. Letting yourself be carried by the flow of love. Without expectations. Without pressure. With your inner voice as your guide.
Feel the rhythm.
Surrender to it.
There, we meet you.
There, we guide you.
We are waiting for you –
and we always give you only as much as you can carry.
We love you.
Thank you for being here.
If something in these letters stayed with you, take it along – think about it, write your own answer, or just let it sit.
And if not today, that's okay too. There's no rush.
Until next time,
– Jan
