A Breather.
Nothing is chasing you – take the breather.
I had given myself a deadline nobody asked for. By Friday this has to be done – said no one but me. And still I sat there working against the clock, as if something were chasing me.
This letter names the trick: the pressure was self-made, and I could put it down. Not stop caring – just stop racing. In The Creative Process we look at how creation keeps its own pace when we stop forcing one on it.
If you're reading this between two things you “have to” finish – this one is for you.
Dear traveler,
How nice that you are here today – on this sunny day. Take it easy, take it lightly. There's much you can do, if you want to – but nothing you have to do.
Take a deep breath. You can't do anything wrong. We are here. Always. If you feel you want to do something, we are here, accompanying you. Feel into yourself and listen closely. Don't be afraid. You're doing just fine.
There's no rush. You have all the time in the world. Do things when they feel right – at your own pace, in your own way. Lightly. Time pressure or deadlines – those are illusions. Self-made. Love is patient. Love does not push. Love is simply there.
Find your own rhythm. That's all you need to know today!
Thank you for being here.
If something in these letters stayed with you, take it along – think about it, write your own answer, or just let it sit.
And if not today, that's okay too. There's no rush.
Until next time,
– Jan
