Your Place Finds You.
One résumé or a hundred – her husband believed the place would come find him, and she chose to support him, scared and all.
Bella writes this one from the side of the fear: she was the one proposing a million résumés, LinkedIn, knocking on every door – the whole artillery of making something happen. The post is about the other way, the one she watched work from up close, scared and supporting at the same time.
The claim underneath is precise: waiting is not doing nothing. Through the empty year the work continued – learning, building, the inner conversations – only the grabbing stopped. The Creative Process calls this the dance between the poles: you cannot force the wave, and you don't stand idle either; you stay ready. And “don't take the first thing that comes” is the same trust said practically: your place finds you when you leave room for it.
She ends with a question worth turning over: the rejection that later turned out to be a door. Most of us have one.
To believe or not?
To move to Russia my husband quit his job. And for the first year he simply did what he wanted – made his own VPN, built a visa tracker, amulets for family and friends, his own to-do-list app and so on. At some point I also got pregnant😁 And the question of work, of course, was standing sharp🤭 I worried about how we would live, on what – and with a child coming too. My husband believed that everything would come on time, when it was needed. The main thing: don't give up, but don't “tear yourself apart” either. I suggested sending out a million résumés, publishing on LinkedIn, writing to everyone we knew – in short, run and knock on every door! My husband, the other way around, went on with his own things, kept studying programming, and believed. A lot of spiritual work was done, conversations with himself; he was afraid too, but he believed. And at some point I said that I would simply support him in everything. Yes, I'm scared, yes, I worry, but I'm with him in any decision of his.
And then suddenly an old acquaintance of his wrote, someone he used to work with – she suggested going in as consultants at one VERY cool company. They went, and afterwards they were offered to become full employees of the company! Completely unexpectedly, my husband found work he likes, at a mega cool company, with a salary he'd never had in his life) And now we live in Switzerland, he goes on business trips and does what interests him)
I'm writing this not out of a wish to boast, but to show that your place will find you – and it doesn't matter whether you send 100 résumés or 1. What matters is believing in yourself, in the Universe (God), and not taking the first thing that comes along, but giving your place the chance to find you and appear in your life)))
Surely at some point you were turned down for a job or a project, and a week, a year or more later you understood that that rejection led you to a completely different path – your path
Thank you for reading.
If her words reached somewhere mine don't – good. That's what this blog is for. Take what fits and leave the rest.
